Albion Rovers are ecstatic to announce that Alex McCaw has rejoined the club for the 2026/27 Lowland League West campaign!
The 24-year-old Winger is no stranger to The Reigart Stadium, having joined the club in the Summer of 2023 after spells with Open Goal Broomhill, Hurlford and a loan spell with Annan Athletic, having graduated from St Mirren’s youth academy.
Alex went on to make 86 competitive appearances for the club over 2 seasons, scoring 3 goals before departing the club ahead of the 25/26 season to join Cumnock Juniors, where he lifted the South Challenge Cup.
Speaking to Club Media after putting pen to paper, Alex said: “I’m delighted to be back. It all happened very quickly, but as soon as I knew it was a possibility, it was the only thing I wanted to do.”
Manager Steven Saunders also had this to say about his latest acquisition: “When I saw Cumnock had released Alex, I was straight on the phone to him; he’s a player I’ve always admired, and I think he can bring experience to the group.”
Alex is unfortunately ineligible to make his 2nd debut for the club in Saturday’s South Challenge Cup tie with Preston Athletic, as he featured for Cumnock in their round 1 tie, making him cup-tied.
