A message from the Albion Rovers Squad Fund group:
Following the most recent audit of the Squad Fund (ARSF) accounts, a quick update on the contribution made by the ARSF over the years.
The Albion Rovers Squad Fund was established in November 2012 with one simple aim: to boost the club’s player budget and provide the Rovers manager with more money to spend on player wages and signing on fees.
As of today (Friday, July 31) the Squad Fund had donated a grand total of £43,870 to Albion Rovers FC since its inception – including a lump sum of £1,500 transferred to the club earlier this week.
Spare change for the titans of the game, but a useful sum for a Lowland League West club.
The majority of the cash donated over the years has come from monthly contributions (by Standing Order) from our small but loyal band of Squad Fund donors.
Those core contributions have been significantly augmented by generous donations made in recent years by our fellow fans at the Albion Rovers Supporters Trust.

A board spokesperson said: “We’d like to place on record our thanks to Bill and the Squad Fund donors for their immense support to ARFC over the years.
“To have raised and donated over £40,000 is incredible and a testament to the loyalty and generosity shown by the Squad Fund donors.
“The £1,500 lump sum donation has boosted the ringfenced monies raised from this year’s Rovers Return.
“Again, a thank you goes to all of those who are backing the Rovers Return after this campaign.
“That fundraising income, alongside the Squad Fund, has made a significant difference to the football budget.”
