Albion Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of defender Tom Leighton.
The five-time Northern Ireland Under-19 cap joins after most recently being on the books at Alloa Athletic.
Having started his footballing career as a Scottish FA Performance School pupil at Braidhurst, the 21-year-old moved to Watford from Motherwell having been headhunted by a number of European and Premier League clubs.
After his spell at the Hornets, where he earned five caps for his country at youth level, the centre back moved to Cove Rangers.
He won an extension to his short-term deal and played on loan at East Kilbride for a spell.
Leighton said of joining the club: “I’m very excited to join a club like Albion Rovers with a good fan base and hopefully I can help the club climb the table and get back to where they belong.”
Thanks to David Glencross for letting us borrow his pic of Tom!
