Forfar Athletic vs Albion Rovers Preview

Forfar Athletic vs Albion Rovers Preview

By Taylor Murray

The Rovers travel north to face Forfar Athletic in cinch League 2 action tomorrow as Brian Reid’s men look to get back to winning ways after the disappointing Scottish Cup defeat last week.

The Coatbridge side have been in fine form in the league recently with the team unbeaten in five games, drawing three and winning two, which has lifted the club off the foot of the table and into 7th place, only three points behind Stranraer.

Forfar come into the game looking to prove to their supporters that they don’t deserve to be on the foot of the table with the home side looking to keep the Rovers in their sights in terms of points.

The Sky Blues come into the game looking to bounce back like the Rovers after a heavy defeat to Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup as they lost 4-0 to the Pars. In terms of league action, they have picked up 2 points from a possible 9 with the two draws coming against league leaders, Dumbarton, and Bonnyrigg Rose.

Brian Reid watching on

The last meeting at Station Park between the two sides came back in February with the home side running out 2-0 winners. Fast forward to this season and it was a point a piece between the two sides when The Rovers hosted The Loons at The Reigart Stadium with a 0-0 draw.

Looking at the Vers, Brian Reid will be looking a key player for him this season, Charlie Reilly to help inspire his side to a win. The Rovers player has got 10 goals and 5 assists in 19 league appearances this season.

A win would see the Coatbridge side draw level with Stranraer and Stenhousemuir on points and potentially leapfrog the pair on goal difference, which would propel the club into the top half of the table.
