Albion Rovers will look to bounce back from their midweek 4-1 defeat to Annan Athletic when they welcome Edinburgh City to Cliftonhill on Saturday.
It will be the fourth and final meeting between the sides this season, and the second in the space of two and a half weeks. Rovers have a 100% win record over the Citizens this season, with the latest win coming via a late Kyle Doherty goal at Ainslie Park last month.
The visitors enter the match knowing anything less than a victory will not be enough if they are to maintain their slender hold on the final playoff spot over promotion rivals Stenhousemuir, who sit just three points behind with a game in hand and a better goal difference of three. Both sides played out a 1-1 draw in the capital on Wednesday evening. Now would be the ideal time for City to snap their losing streak against Rovers.
Since the last time these two sides played, Rovers have picked up just one point from six and find themselves in 9th position, seven points clear of Cowdenbeath on the same number of games played. Completing a sweep of City coupled with results elsewhere (Cowdenbeath welcome league leaders Kelty) could really send Rovers a step in the right direction of maintaining their SPFL status.
