Rovers lost out to cinch League 1 side Clyde, after a tight affair at wet Broadwood.
Callum Wilson started his season as he did the last, looking sharp on the ball and driving at opponents – and he scored our goal in the match with a great finish.
Newly signed Charlie Reilly was our most influential attacker, and he fed the ball into Wilson to score our equaliser in the second half.
The first 45 was a tepid affair and Rovers never got going. Goodwillie scored from the penalty spot after a very soft award from the referee for a foul.
After our goal, we were on top, but failed to capitalise and lost out in the end by a couple of goals.
