Rovers excellent run in the Scottish Lowland Football League ended on Saturday afternoon at the hands of the Hoops in Airdrie.
After Serie A and Premier League-linked Rocco Vata opened the scoring early on, Joe Bevan levelled for Sandy Clark’s side on the half-hour mark – pouncing on an error and finishing well past Joe Morrison.
In the second half, Stephen McManus’s team were quickly back in front through MacKenzie Carse but Rovers kept pushing until the final whistle, earning a spot kick to hopefully level late on when Sean Fagan brilliantly drew a foul in the box.
On-form Niyah Joseph then stepped up but his effort smashed off the post, securing the three points for the hosts.
A quick turnaround again now for the team as we travel to Forthbank on Wednesday night to face University of Stirling.
