Albion Rovers 2-0 Caley Braves

🙌 Albion Rovers 2-0 Caledonian Braves

Steven Saunders’ side earned a first win of the Scottish Lowland Football League West season on Saturday afternoon after a superb showing at The Reigart Stadium.

The free-scoring visitors, who have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, couldn’t find a way to goal thanks to some fine defending, a disciplined team performance and more heroics from St Mirren FC co-op loanee Grant Tamosevicius.

Up the other end, #ARFC created chances and again played some nice football. Chris Neeson slotted home the opener after 53 minutes, finishing off a smart one-two. Captain Barry Duncan then added to last weekend’s strike with another curling effort – that may have nicked off substitute Tony Garth – three minutes from time.

Our first victory sees us now sit on four points in tenth spot ahead of Tuesday night’s trip down to Kilwinning Rangers. Thanks to everyone who attended Cliftonhill, and we’ll hopefully see many of you down in Ayrshire.
