Subject to an early morning pitch inspection, Albion Rovers will face off against Stirling Albion at Forthbank Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides in cinch League Two this season, with both teams with a victory each. The Binos won the first clash 2-1 at Forthbank in August, while the Rovers earned their three points in a 1-0 win at The Reigart Stadium back in November in a match which saw both sides reduced to 10 men.
Despite being in the middle of a four-game run of away fixtures and facing another six matches in the space of just four weeks, Rovers will enter the match feeling confident off the back of their 2-1 victory over fourth-place Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park on Tuesday evening. Kyle Doherty came off the bench to find the late winner for Rovers, giving them their first victory since Boxing Day and he will be hungry to keep that streak going following a lengthy absence. A result would see Brian Reid’s men leapfrog Stirling into 7th and move closer to ensuring their League Two status.
Former Rovers player/manager, Darren Young, who is in charge of the Binos, enter the match on a run of inconsistent results. Since the fixture between the sides, they have only managed to win in the league once and have not won in the league at Forthbank since a 4-0 victory over Cowdenbeath in September. Rovers will be looking to not be on the wrong end of the result and win their second away match in as many games.
