Albion Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of ex-Montrose and East Fife midfielder Stephen O’Neill!
The 29-year-old joins after an eight-year association with fellow Scottish Lowland Football League side Cumbernauld Colts.
During his time with the Broadwood club, which started all the way back in 2015 – he was a consistent starter.
And now, O’Neill bolsters the Rovers squad with a level of Lowland League experience that not many players can match.
During this campaign, the midfielder has already played 13 times for David Proctor’s men, captaining the Colts – who currently sit joint-top of the table.
“I am delighted to be here,” O’Neill said. “I was at the Colts for nine years playing in the Lowland League and I know all about it – we have a talented, young squad here and I am hoping to really give the team that bit of gamesmanship and know-how that will take us to the next level.”
O’Neill is available for selection tomorrow evening at Netherdale as we take on Gala Fairydean Rovers – with the midfielder having already turned out twice for Rovers as a trialist.
Welcome to Albion Rovers, Stephen!
