The Board of Directors would like to place on record the disappointment that we, the management team, the players and everyone connected to the Club felt regarding the result that led to our exit from the Scottish Cup at the first round stage. While we understand frustration and emotions are high immediately in the aftermath of such a game, we must acknowledge that the standard of behaviour expected by the Club from everyone involved, but in particular our Management Team, was not maintained, and the scene that played out should have been avoidable. This matter has now been dealt with internally.
No one was more disappointed by the result than the Manager and his Coaching team, who have worked tirelessly up to this point with a playing budget significantly below that of some of the teams we have come up against. Despite a playing budget that has been negatively impacted by various factors, including the lack of suitable investors put forward to our shareholders, we will continue to strive towards giving the management team every resource we can while remaining fiscally responsible.
The Board will continue to work on boosting current income while looking at every avenue to bring new income streams and fresh investment that would be much welcomed by all involved in the Club’s day-to-day running.
We are confident that we are laying the foundations for Albion Rovers FC to become a sustainable and profitable entity. The journey ahead of us is neither straightforward nor easy; however, we look forward to the challenge, starting again with tonight’s game against Civil Service Strollers.
