Firstly, we’d like to thank Bill Walker and all of his Squad Fund backers for their support over many years. Your generous support has led to a significant six-figure sum in donations since its inception in 2012. Our fundraising project, revealed officially today, will augment the Squad Fund’s immense contribution.
We now look forward to our third season in the Park’s Motor Group Scottish Lowland Football League acutely aware of the challenges ahead. We are at a critical juncture in our proud history.
The choice is clear: strive for better, push our boundaries and be ambitious. Do what we haven’t done well enough before – truly become Coatbridge’s community club; merit that title.
Or take the easy option. Sell the family silver. Rip the heart out of our great club for a swift payday. Ensure our survival but forfeit what Albion Rovers stands for in the process. No thanks.
Through no fault of our own, the opportunity to be invited as a guest club to the SPFL’s Viaplay Cup and Trust Trophy competitions has been taken away from us. Added to this, our third fifth-tier campaign marks our first without a significant SPFL parachute payment.
The reality is simple; we play in a division where there is no additional financial benefit linked to league performance.
To help us achieve our goals of further embedding our roots in Coatbridge by developing a community hub including an artificial playing surface, getting the best possible team on the park, and ultimately attaining SPFL status, we need your support to help build the foundations needed to achieve these longer-term objectives.
We are delighted to announce a new fundraising opportunity where businesses, individuals, Coatbridge-based or further afield are invited to pledge their support.
Unlike many clubs, Albion Rovers has no benefactor with deep pockets to help us achieve our strategic goals.
Our progress to this point has been built on the loyal support of the people and businesses in our community.
Our progress in the future is dependent on this continuing support and we firmly believe we have a bright future if our magnificent supporters continue to back us.
Famous cup runs, play-offs and promotions, epic battles at the bottom, and an iconic stadium home to a quintessential Scottish football club known for unearthing young gems – and playing host to the Crazy Gang and a host of lower-league legends.
Next season will be the start of a new chapter for Albion Rovers. We know not everyone can make The Reigart Stadium on a Saturday, and the Rovers Return means anyone can make a difference to our future.
The Rovers Return will launch on Tuesday, February 25.
And we are asking those who can spare it, to help build our budgets and give us the best possible chance of implementing our strategic plans for the wider Rovers community.
The Rovers Return is a new three-tiered donorship fundraising initiative where you will be able to contribute on a monthly basis to the club alongside an opportunity to make a one-off contribution.
For your contribution, there will be a host of brilliant benefits including a truly special opportunity to have a chosen name adorn our 2025/26 home kit.
Payments will be collected monthly (ten payments).
One-off payments can also be arranged by selecting the annual option.
You will still be able to purchase season tickets, sponsor matches/match balls/players, and continue to contribute to the Squad Fund in the same usual ways, this is a new initiative being put in place to help raise much-needed funds and reward fans for their contributions.
