Everyone at Albion Rovers would like to send our best wishes to defender James McGowan as he leaves the club to start a new chapter in Australia.
The centre-half, 29, signed a new deal in the summer to stay with the club until he departed.
He joined from Troon back in the 2020/21 season on loan and helped us steer clear of any relegation trouble with a seventh-placed finish.
Signing a pre-contract with the ‘Vers at the end of that campaign – he has then gone on to make over 50 competitive appearances for Brian Reid’s side.
On Saturday afternoon, his last outing for the club saw his command the backline in our 2-0 victory over Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic.
