Harry Stone joins Albion Rovers on loan

Albion Rovers are pleased to announce Harry Stone has joined the club on loan from Heart of Midlothian.

The 19-year-old towering goalkeeper joins the club until the end of the season after spending the first half of the campaign on loan at Partick Thistle in cinch League 1.

Harry is no stranger to The Reigart Stadium having already been on loan at the club under manager Brian Reid last year.

Clocking up 13 appearances, Harry was simply outstanding and as well as showing his natural ability as a shot-stopper, the youngster commanded the backline and was an experienced head – helping Brian Reid’s side climb the table to seventh place.

Speaking about returning to the club, Harry said: “I am delighted to be back at Albion Rovers. I enjoyed my first loan spell at the club and found it a really good place to be for my development.

“Brian, Scott and Alan the goalkeeping coach were really helpful and it was a great environment to be in and around.

“I am looking forward to hopefully helping the club climb the table.”

Manager Brian Reid said: “He’s someone we know very well and once I knew he was available, it was a no-brainer to bring him in again.

“Cammy Binnie put in a great performance at Elgin at the weekend so it will be a fight for the number one spot which can only be a good thing.

“Competition for places is vital and we are still on the hunt to add to the squad.”
