Volunteering Days
The Albion Rovers Supporters’ Trust are once again running their popular volunteering days over the off-season!
They are looking for as many hands as possible to help get The Reigart Stadium into tip-top shape heading into the new campaign.
The first meeting takes place this Saturday morning, with everyone meeting at 10am for around two hours.
The first few weeks will be concentrated on cutting the ivy back outside the ground so if anyone has secateurs – please bring them and anything else you think might be handy!
The club are grateful to the Trust for running for the volunteering days, and of course, to everyone who comes along year after year!
Security Update
Firstly, on behalf of the BoD and more generally the wider Albion Rovers community, a huge and very heartfelt thank you to the donors who generously backed the Just Giving page to help raise funds for security upgrades following the recent spate of vandalism.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to the Supporters’ Trust, our loyal fans/volunteers and the various local businesses who have come forward to offer their time, money and talents as we look to introduce and upgrade security measures around our beloved Reigart Stadium. Thanks to Jordan Campbell for setting up the page too.
To keep you abreast of what’s been done so far:
CCTV survey completed and recommendations received.
Site perimeter security survey completed, recommendations and quotations received. Sample of the recommended anti-climb measures in the process of being ordered to assess its effectiveness before we look to order the full amount.
Access equipment survey requested and scheduled for next week.
For some of the security and CCTV works being planned we will need to arrange for access and lifting equipment to be ordered, there are other works that also need to be completed at the ground (not related to the CCTV or security) which also require the same access equipment. At this stage we are trying to co-ordinate these works to prevent the need for additional costs of hiring the same equipment on more than occasion.
We are also conducting a review of the season ticket renewal process and various other internal match day procedures to identify any opportunities to improve security on match days.
We will keep everyone updated with our progress via the proboards forum on progress throughout the close season.
