Everyone associated with Albion Rovers FC, including the Club’s Board of Directors, would like to sincerely thank all those who have pledged to the Rovers Return initiative, as well as fans – and those from the wider community – who continue to financially support the Club in other ways, such as donating to a supporter-created GoFundMe page or simply by attending recent matches. We’d like to thank our brilliant Club sponsors too. The support we have have had from our local MSP and MP has also been beneficial and appreciated.
All of the above has played a role in helping the Club stabilise its position ahead of the summer break.
We now have well over 100 backers for the Rovers Return, and we are aiming for a big final push before Friday’s final sign-up date. Please spread the word.
We have had many queries regarding the fundraising initiative.
The aim was to create something that could financially support the Club over a longer period while also giving some benefit back to those who pledged. The final sign-up date ensures next season’s home kit can ordered in good time.
The Club is together now more than ever. We are proud to be a Club for everyone with a unique identity. We are delighted to have rekindled stronger relationships with our brilliant Supporters and Community Trusts. We are all working hard to make our vision a reality. Our fundraising working group continues to work hard in the background while a facilities development working group is also putting in place the building blocks towards our goal of turning The Reigart Stadium into a community hub. The Board are continuing to modernise the Club’s operating model and progressing with a difficult but required transition to operating as a self-funded business in the largely unfunded fifth tier of Scottish football.
On the park, the Board would like to place on record our thanks to the Club’s footballing staff and playing squad for the professionalism they have demonstrated in recent months during what has been a difficult period.. We head to East Stirlingshire this Saturday looking forward to the final five matches of the campaign with the aim of finishing in the top six of the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League.
In the past few days, press reports have detailed a meeting between the Club’s Board of Directors and a prospective consortium. The Club’s Board were approached at the beginning of the month regarding a proposal for which the details involved would be presented in-person. In line with our legal duty as Directors, the Board invited the consortium in confidence to present their proposal.
