ARFC Facility Development Project Board – an introduction

The Club would like to share details of a recently-formed tripartite working group which is investigating how to take forward the vision of transforming The Reigart Stadium into a community hub for the people of Coatbridge. The main focus of the Project Board is to attain our facility aspirations for grassroots and community football.

The Albion Rovers Facility Development Project Board includes two representatives from the Club’s Board, two representatives from the Albion Rovers Community Trust and two representatives from the Albion Rovers Supporters Trust.

Frank Croall (ST) was elected as chair of the Board with Isabelle Boyd (CT) being elected as vice-chair of the Board.Β

The Project Board is currently exploring opportunities regarding the possibility of attaining funding to upgrade The Reigart Stadium’s facilities, including but not limited to the installation of an artificial surface to replace our grass pitch and further community multi-sport facilities.

The Project Board attended a ‘Team Talk’ initial meeting with the Scottish FA regarding this.

The Project Board has been hard at work in the background to put the building blocks in place now that the full application stage is open.

Following previous Scottish FA advice, the Project Board began a tender process with approved companies regarding the potential full application stage. We continue to work closely with the Scottish FA’s Club Services team.

The Project Board is engaging with a consultant who has extensive experience in securing partner funding for community sporting projects.

The Project Board will update supporters as we make progress on this journey to create community facilities at Cliftonhill.
