Following Saturday’s disappointing exit from the Scottish Cup at the hands of Greenock Morton, player/manager Darren Young gave an honest reflection to the media in his press conference.
“I thought we were a real threat throughout most of the game, and I doubt they’ve scored two crappier goals this season.
“The first is a little mistake from Ross Stewart, who has been absolutely outstanding for us all season, then the second creeped in after a huge deflection. Aside from that, if I’m honest, I don’t think they overly troubled us that much.”
“We attempted to really have a go at them, go forward and play football the right way – the way that has served us well so far throughout this season.”
“On that display I don’t think there was too much of a gap (between Scottish League One and Scottish Championship), but they’re obviously in full-time and get to work on things a lot more than we do.”
“The boys are absolutely gutted in the dressingroom and as a club we’re obviously disappointed about crashing out of the cup, performance wise, though, I thought we were excellent and can take a lot of confidence from it and take into our league season.”
