Stenhousemuir Match Preview

On Saturday, Rovers play host to Stenhousemuir, the club currently sitting one place behind Darren Young’s side in the league.

Rovers will be heading into Saturday’s clash off the back of a morale boosting away win at Stranraer last weekend, Scott McBride’s second half strike handing the Rovers all three points in a solid display in Dumfries and Galloway.

With the return of goalkeeper Blair Lochhead, it looks as if player/manager Darren Young has a full squad to choose from for the Stenhousemuir fixture, a game which Young sees as vital in order to see his side gain some real momentum.

“It’s definitely important to keep the momentum going” said Young. “As we saw last year when we went on a couple of runs going eight or nine games unbeaten, winning breeds confidence and it becomes a good habit to get into. ”

Whilst Rovers were able to record a fine away victory last Saturday, it was the complete opposite end of the scale for Saturday’s visitors Stenhousemuir, who were thumped 5-0 at home to second place Dunfermline.

Despite an obviously poor result for Stenhousemuir last time out, Young still believes that Rovers will need bring their A game should they want to record first back-to-back wins since promotion from the Scottish League Two.

“Stenhousemuir will be looking to bounce back after last week’s result so we will need to be on our toes right from the start. They’re a strong side with a couple of players that can hurt you and cause you problems”.

Saturday’s match is looking set to be another exciting Scottish League One tussle between two sides with nothing between them so far in the 2015-16 campaign.
