Albion Rovers have today secured the re-signing of forward Scott McBride on a one year deal.
McBride, who scored 9 goals in hist debut season at Rovers, shared us his delight at securing his future at the club.
“I’m delighted to have agreed terms to stay on. I enjoy the way we play and how hard the team work for each-other, the gaffer and back room staff have been 1st class and deserve massive credit for the success over the last couple of years. I loved my time at Albion last season, and I look forward to the new season beginning.
“Last season was a magnificent season for the club, to finish as high as we did and to be disappointed not to clinch a play off place shows just how much we all wanted it and we deserved it.
“Personally, it was a frustrating start as I got injured in the challenge cup game, but once I was back in and fit, I thought I had a decent season n scored a few goals to help the team along the way.
“This season, hopefully we can kick on from last seasons experience in this league, teams will know what we are all about.
“But we are looking to improve all the time, so there’s no reason why we won’t be looking to push for a top 4 play off place. Personally I am looking to kick on as well and start this season as I left off last, hopefully score some more goals n help the team achieve an even higher finish.
“The supports at Albion have been fantastic. It’s amazing to think you get the fans that travel everywhere with the team. We, as players, appreciate it so much as it helps us on the park, we call them the 12th man for a reason, we would be nowhere without the fans.”
He concluded the interview: “Hopefully after last season we can attract more fans to the games, and it can be a positive for the club in terms of attendances and therefore results. Let’s get right behind the team this year.”
