Falkirk Preview

On Saturday afternoon, Rovers play their second pre-season fixture of the 2016/17 campaign, facing Falkirk.

Peter Houston’s side had a hugely successful campaign last season, finishing second in the Ladbrokes Championship table, whilst narrowly missing out on promotion to the Ladbrokes Premiership after an aggregate play-off defeat to Kilmarnock.

With Falkirk keeping much of the squad that brought them success last season and adding a few new fresh faces too, Darren Young feels the Championship side will offer a great test as we draw closer to the start of the season.

“Much like last weekend, I think it’ll be another great tester for the boys as we come ever-closer to the competitive games starting.

“Falkirk are a good side, Houstie has them well drilled in defence but they also have some real class in attack too.”

A bucket collection will also take place, raising both money and awareness for the incredibly brave Falkirk Media Officer, Gordon McFarlane, who suffered a massive stroke in July 2015. If all in attendance could donate just a few pounds to the cause, it’ll go a long way in helping both Gordon and his inspiring family.
