Cowdenbeath Match Preview

This afternoon Rovers play host to Fife side Cowdenbeath at Cliftonhill, where beforehand there will be a tribute for supporter, friend and club servant Gordon Dishington, with the Sponsors Lounge being renamed as The Gordon Dishington Lounge.

Cowdenbeath currently occupy eighth spot but player/manager Darren Young believes the Fifers can still potentially pose a real threat.

“They had a slow start but have picked up well in the last few games and last week’s draw at home to Dunfermline shows how far they have come and also that we cannot take them lightly.”

Whilst forward Callum McRobbie makes a return from injury, John Gemmell will be unavailable for the match after being branded a straight red in the last match at Airdrieonians.

Young does suggest however that despite the Blue Brazil coming out on top in the clash between the sides earlier this season, that game will have little baring on who comes out on top this afternoon.

“Both teams personnel and formations have changed since that first game.”

He added: “We’re looking to improve upon last weeks performance in terms of keeping the ball better and creating more chances. If we can nick the first goal then I’d fancy us to be able to get a good result.”

So come along this afternoon and show your support for Gordon Dishington, the team and play your part in helping us continue with the rich vein in form we’re in.
