Albion Rovers v Stranraer preview

We cuaght up with Rovers boss Darren Young before today’s home clash with Stranraer FC. The home defeat to local rivals Airdrie was obviously a massive disappointment – not least the fact that we lost two poor goals (from our point of view) after defending well in recent weeks.  If you also take into account the perfectly good goal that was disallowed, the missed penalty and the chances not taken (especially when we were putting Airdrie under relentless pressure towards the end of the match) and it all adds up to a pretty frustrating afternoon.

All of which makes us all the more determined to get back to winning ways today.  That will be far from easy, though.  Stranraer have had a bit of an up and down season, but they are a big strong team who, on their day, are a match for any team in the division.

But we go into the match full of confidence, and determined to win back our play-off place.  We are creating plenty of chances and, other than Ryan Wallace (who looks to be another week away from a return to action) we should have a full squad to choose from this afternoon.  Rest assured that will be going all out for all three points, so please get right behind the team from the start – your vocal support means a lot to the players.

Enjoy the match.
