Albion Rovers v Livingston Match preview + Bar open

We caught up with Darren Young…

Well, what a match that was. If the guy who wrote ‘Roy of the Rovers’ had submitted a script in which the wee team, down to ten men in the latter stages of a pulsating cup tie and hanging on for the chance of a replay, scores a glorious winner with the last kick of the ball thus bringing the club much-needed revenue… well, the editor would probably have said, ‘ Back to the drawing board’.

But that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night, sparking wild scenes of celebration ,the likes of which haven’t been seen at Exsel Group Stadium / Cliftonhill for some time. All thanks to a tremendous team performance by a group of players who don’t know when they’re beaten. It was truly a performance to be proud of, and a fitting tribute to one of my most illustrious predecessors, big Davie Provan, who sadly passed away a few days ago.

Its back to league business this afternoon as we gear up to face top of the table Livingston for the second time this season. Back in October we came away from The Tony Macaroni Arena’s with all three points thanks to one of our best performances of the campaign. We’ll have to be at our best again today to get the kind of result we’re looking for, so please get right behind the players from the start, and help us to keep our play-off hopes alive.

Enjoy the match Darren Young
