As part of the centenary celebrations of Cliftonhill, this weekend will see the launch of ‘A Game of Two Halves’ at Summerlee.
The ‘Game of Two Halves’ exhibition will have a formal opening at 12.30pm at Summerlee Museum, Coatbridge ML5 1QD this Saturday 6th July and will be on until 27th October.
Apart from over 60 photos of Albion Rovers fans, volunteers and environment from Iain McLean,i a showing of ‘We Are Albion’ by Wilma Smith, there’s a spot the ball area, anecdotes from fans recorded by Wilma as well as lots of artifacts donated by fans and also a look at the speedway past of Cliftonhill. There will be prints, photojournals, postcards and copies of Wilma’s film on sale too.
The Kirkintilloch and Kelvin Brass band will kick things off at 12.30pm and John Smith – Rover’s oldest fan – will open the show at 1pm.
